The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center is a primary West Virginia tourist information center in the region, offering visitors an ideal start for their trip. The center provides guests with a wide array of maps and brochures covering local history, attractions, shopping and dining, as well as popular ‘must-see’ spots throughout West Virginia. Our Information Specialists are on hand to share their expertise, answer questions and give a local perspective on things to see and do in the Greenbrier Valley and around the state.

Annual Events in Downtown Lewisburg

Located in Lewisburg, the center is also a hub for many downtown annual events, a highlight for anyone visiting the Greenbrier Valley. Stop by for sweet tastings and chef demonstrations during the Lewisburg Chocolate Festival in April, chat with authors or attend a writing workshop during the Lewisburg Literary Festival in August, and enjoy a quiet respite from holiday shopping while visiting festive activities in downtown Lewisburg every December.

Art in the Valley

Since 2014, this regional West Virginia welcome center has showcased the extraordinary talents of artists in the area. Month-long exhibits titled “Art in the Valley” feature paintings, pottery, textiles, woodworking, jewelry, photography and many other genres. Come by to view these one-of-a-kind shows and add a piece of local art to your collection.

Not only does the center assist visitors on their travels through the state, the retail space is stocked with gift items when looking for something to remember your trip. It's also a comfortable place to relax, use the Wi-Fi and freshen up in our clean public restrooms.

As a regional West Virginia welcome center, it's just minutes from Interstate 64 in historic downtown Lewisburg on the corner of Washington and Court streets. Look for the large red brick building with expansive windows, green awnings and the coolest bike racks in town. Start your exploration here—we’re within easy walking distance of historical attractions, award-winning restaurants and shops galore.

Conference and Event Rental Spaces

The visitors center is open and spacious, offering two rental options ideal for small meetings, board retreats, receptions, dinners and special events. The Rahall Conference Room is 822 square feet and can accommodate 25 to 30 people with schoolroom-style seating or 50 attendees in theater seating. The 3,500 square feet main welcome center is available after 5 pm and is perfect for hosting a reunion, reception or dinner event for 300 at a standing reception or 150 seated at round tables. There's also a small, raised stage for event entertainment and speakers. A small catering kitchen is included. When planning your event, ask about caterers. Does West Virginia have Welcome Centers?

Yes, West Virginia has seven interstate welcome centers and many regional visitors centers that are managed by local tourism offices. The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center, located in downtown Lewisburg, is a regional welcome center that offers local and statewide information.

Is the Welcome Center in Lewisburg Handicap Accessible?

Yes, it’s handicap accessible. The building has curb ramps on the Washinton Street and Court Street sides. Both entrances have wide double doors, with an indoor ramp and railing on the Court Street side. Handicap-accessible restrooms are also available in the visitors center.

Is there parking close to the Welcome Center?

Nearby on-street parking is available on Washington and Court streets and there are three municipal lots within the downtown area that are within easy walking distance.
