The Greenbrier

Combining history, luxury, cuisine, shopping, relaxation and sport, The Greenbrier is truly America’s Resort. Designated time and again as an exceptional or truly cool destination, Lewisburg offers charming inns, distinctive shops, and unmatched cuisine for even the most discriminating traveler.

It's Independence Day!

Celebrate America’s Independence with true patriotic flare at the Alderson Fourth of July Celebration, West Virginia’s Largest Independence Day Celebration. Since the early 20th Century, revelers have enjoyed activities for the whole family as they celebrate the birth of a nation. From patriotic décor adorning homes and business to live music, food vendors, a parade and of course, an amazing fireworks display, Alderson, W.Va. is the place to be to truly celebrate America.

Greenbrier River Trail is a Hiker/Biker Paradise

The Greenbrier River Trail is a 77-mile maintained trail which was once part of the historic Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad. Converted into West Virginia's longest hiking and biking trail, this picturesque trail winds its way through along the Greenbrier River starting at North Caldwell to just south of Cass Scenic Railroad State Park. Offering something for just about every outdoor enthusiast – hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing and cross-country skiing – the Greenbrier River Trail is a dream destination to get outside!

Swimming Holes ... A Greenbrier Valley Tradition

Nothing says summer quite like a day trip to a local swimming hole. Take it from us, to truly enjoy the Greenbrier Valley, take a tour of our favorite places for family fun in the sun by the waterside. You will soon discover why swimming in the great outdoors is a Greenbrier Valley tradition. The region is home to many well know swimming areas including Blue Bend, Lake Sherwood and several stops along the Greenbrier River.

Underground Adventures

Home to two caverns offering traditional tours as well as "wild caving" excursions, the opportunity for adventure in the Greenbrier Valley is plentiful. A dream spelunking aficionados and wannabes, Lost World Caverns in Lewisburg,  or Organ Cave in Ronceverte offers special expeditions to such sites. If the names of passageways are any indication–    "The Birth Canal," "Fat Man's Misery,” "Throne Room," and "Rock Slide" – adventure is out there!
