Lewisburg, WV - The Greenbrier County Convention & Visitors Bureau (GCCVB) is pleased to display quilts from the Alderson Quilters and Crafters Guild for March’s Art in the Valley exhibit. The annual quilt display is the largest exhibit in the Art in the Valley program and a local favorite. Guild members hang quilted table runners and decorative pieces from the walls, large quilts are hung from installed tubing and multiple chairs and quilt racks are used in the presentation.
The guild’s annual raffle quilt is on exhibition and tickets are available. Each year the group creates a quilt to raffle with the proceeds going towards the Alderson Community Center. This year’s quilt, “Memory Lane,” is a collection of 30’s style prints made into old-time patterns including the snail’s trail, drunkard’s path, rosebud and hour glass.
The Visitors Center began the Art in the Valley project as a way to provide local artists with an exhibition space. Each month the Visitors Center showcases a different artist or collections of artists. Art in the Valley is free and open to the public.
