The 2019 Art in the Valley series at the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center begins with artwork from students at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM). The show opens at 5 p.m., Feb. 1, 2019, during First Fridays After Five.
“Study Break II” features mixed media creations based on the theme, “Diversity is…?” During fall 2018, the school provided open art studios for students to take a break from the mental marathon of their workload.
WVSOM will also be taking over the Visitors Center during First Friday as entertainment. Students, staff and faculty will highlight their many talents outside the classroom. The Greenbrier Girls’ Academy Drum Ensemble will also be performing that evening.
The Greenbrier Valley Visitor Center began the Art in the Valley exhibit in 2014 as a way to highlight local artists. Each month the gallery space features a new artist, with an opening during First Fridays After Five.
