Greenbrier County CVB Shines Bright at WVDT Stars of Almost Heaven

Celebrating the tourism industry, the West Virginia Department of Tourism (WVDT) recognized the Greenbrier County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and other industry partners at the annual Stars of Almost Heaven Awards. The evening celebrated the 2021 and 2022 winners.
 
The Greenbrier County CVB brought home four awards focusing on regional partnerships.
Accolades included:

  • 2022 Overall Earned Media | Visit Southern WV, Greenbrier County CVB, Explore Summers County CVB, Adventures on the Gorge

  • 2022 Governor’s Award for Regional Cooperation | Mon Forest Towns

  • 2021 Co-Op Ad | Greenbrier County CVB, Visit Southern WV, New River Gorge CVB, Summersville CVB, Adventures on the Gorge

  • 2021 Governor’s Award for Regional Cooperation | Greenbrier CVB, Explore Summer County CVB, Visit Southern WV, Adventures on the Gorge

 
“Partnerships like these are an integral part of tourism’s success in West Virginia,” Kara Dense, president and CEO of the Greenbrier County CVB, said. “Working together to share the story of our region has put the spotlight on the Greenbrier Valley to attract new and returning visitors.”
 
The Greenbrier Valley was also featured in the 2021 Best Print Article, Backroads Nirvana: A two-day, 160-mile West Virginia Ramble by Su Clauson. Her story was released in the July/August issue of Blue Ridge Country.
 
The annual Stars of Almost Heaven Awards are an opportunity for the WVDT to recognize industry partners from across the state for their outstanding achievements in advertising, marketing and public relations, as well as their contributions to the tourism industry in West Virginia. Award nominations were voted upon by a committee of marketing experts and professionals.
