Like to spend some time in the great outdoors? The 5,100-acre Greenbrier State Forest comes equipped with miles of hiking and biking trails, picnicking and disc golf opportunities along with a fitness trail, playground and heated, outdoor pool. Furnished cabins and camping are on-site for those who want more time to explore the park. 

Trails

Entering by way of Hart’s Run Creek, the 18-mile trail system branches out from the valley floor and works its way across the western slope of Kate’s Mountain. Reach the top, 3,280 feet above sea level, and you’ll find sweeping views of the Greenbrier Valley’s lush countryside below. A Fitness trail near the picnic area and several miles of forest roads provide additional recreational opportunities. PARK MAP

Pool

Memorial Day through Labor Day, bring your swim trunks for a dip in the pool. Even if there's a bit of a chill in the air, not to worry. This pool is heated! For the little ones, there's a baby pool. The state forest also offers swimming lessons and water aerobics for those more serious about their "pool time."

Schedule Update 05.21.24: The pool is open Memorial Day weekend, Saturday - Monday,11:30-5:30. It will reopen on June 4th. Summer hours are Tuesday - Sunday, 11:30-5:30 through Labor Day weekend. 

Lodging

 The state forest has 14 one and two-bedroom cabins available for rent. No roughing it here... each is equipped with electricity,  wood fireplace, full kitchen and private bathroom/shower. Cabins are also stocked with linens, towels, cookware, utensils, dishes, coffee maker and microwave. They are open seasonally, beginning mid-April through October 31.

Camping

 Single-family campsites are open to tent campers and RVs. Each site has its own electric hookup, picnic table and fireplace/grill. Community restrooms, shower facilities and water are available nearby. The campground opens mid-April through November 30.

Facilities

 Day-use picnic areas and two shelters (reservations required) offer tables, fireplaces, potable water and restrooms.
