Itinerary: Just for Two

Modern life doesn’t always allow much time for romance, but not so true in the Greenbrier Valley.

Take this invitation to slow down and set a pace for connection and relaxation. How you spend your time together is totally up to you.

ROMANCE IN MIND

With all the ingredients that make a playful just-for-two getaway, the valley is the place to turn up the romance. Take a tour of the award-winning Smooth Ambler Distillery and learn the intricate process of making some of the world’s finest spirits. If the weather is right, head up to Lake Sherwood to take a leisurely cruise around the lake. There’s nothing like handing over the driving reigns to show your love -- book a Greenbrier Off-Road driving excursion and get behind the wheel of a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. You might end up sitting closer than you imagined!

 INTIMATE LODGING

Make Lewisburg’s historic downtown home base for a few days. The Thomas Rose Inn—once the Bell Tavern in a previous century—features two romantic suites, each with a private bath and fireplace. In White Sulphur Springs, The Greenbrier’s Legacy Cottage provides a little extra privacy, while still within easy walking distance to the main hotel. For a quieter setting, book a few nights at the Pomona Salt Cave and Sps's bungalow. Featuring a kitchenette, dining and living areas. Be sure to plan to spend an evening cozied up by the outdoor fire pit. As a bonus, guests receive a free halotherapy session and 10 percent off spa services.

At the Thomas Rose, each room has a private bath and fireplace to ensure your time away from home is extra special.

WINE AND DINE

When it comes to an enchanted dinner for two, the Greenbrier Valley is serving up just what your heart desires. At the Historic General Lewis Inn, couples settle into the Jefferson Dining Room where farm-to-table Southern cuisine meets romantic candlelit ambiance. Start the evening with craft cocktails in the adjacent Thistle Lounge before being seated for a meal that feels both elevated and effortlessly decadent. The Livery Tavern is an intimate venue with a warm interior of exposed beams, natural materials and a stone-hearth fireplace. Slip into a private booth to share a plate of oysters on the half-shell before dinner. Craft cocktails and fresh, Mediterranean-style fare are what you’ll find at Stardust Café. When it comes to love, the seating is cozy while the attentive staff delivers an evening that’s extra special.
