It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas on a visit to the Greenbrier Valley! Festive trimmings abound with vibrant downtowns decked in seasonal finery. The Greenbrier has rolled out the "green" carpet with holiday-themed activities, sugar plums, sweet treats and dances under the mistletoe. Take a look at this “hot-list” of special events and happenings for this holiday season!



Decorated in full holiday regalia, The Greenbrier resort is the quintessential destination for the season's celebrations. It's easy to fill your "punch card" with festive activities, holiday dinners, galas and more.

Dec 23-28. It's a joyous time of year that is sure to bring the family together with bingo and scavenger hunts, holiday movies, dinner parties and of course, the Oddball Olympics! It’s a Christmas weekend filled with good cheer and good times that you won't want to miss!

DEC 29 - JAN 1. Ring in the new year at "America's Resort. From mixology classes and cookie decorating to dinner parties for the kids and the 2022 New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball, this holiday weekend is sure to be a grand time.

The Magic of Christmas in Lewisburg. The downtown district is transformed into a holiday wonderland complete with horse-drawn carriage rides, sweet treats and seasonal specials. For the little ones, take a story book stroll through town (beginning at Yarid's) and stop by Santa's Mailbox. Christmas wishes are delivered daily to the North Pole!

White Sulphur Springs Winterfest. This vibrant downtown is bustling with activity, so get your shopping list ready! A myriad of eclectic shops is open on Main Street, making downtown White Sulphur a must-do if you're in need of a little creative gift buying. 

Downtown Alderson. The holiday season is in full swing in this historic river town. Take a stroll around the main street district to peruse the artsy shops and vintage what-not stores. For one of the best views of the sparkling lights and Greenbrier River, be sure to make your way across the Alderson Memorial Bridge. It's open to pedestrians only and provides easy walking access to more shops and Alderson's historic train depot

#SHOPSMALL. November 27th is the official #shopsmall shopping day, but any day this holiday season is a good day to support our small business community. In the Greenbrier Valley, independent shops, restaurants and attractions are ready to solve your gift-giving dilemmas with one-of-a-kind collectibles for the sensibly chic to creative ideas for the person who has everything.



THRU JAN 2. Holidays in the Greenbrier Valley aren't complete without a trip to the fair! Turn left into the fairgrounds for a drive-through Christmas lights show of dazzling proportions. Every Thursday through Sunday, the fairgrounds buzz with the sights and sounds of Santa’s workshop and elves, a gingerbread village, the Grinch and his trusty companion, Max, tunnels of lights and other illuminating surprises! Free to enjoy, but donations are appreciated.  



DEC 3. You won’t want to miss the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra performing “Sounds of the Season” at Carnegie Hall.

DEC 3-4. At the Winter Wonderland Craft Show in Ronceverte, holiday shopping is as festive as candy canes and mistletoe!

DEC 3 – DEC 18. Take a jaunt down holiday lane with Greenbrier Valley Theatre’s musical review, “Christmas Time is Here.” From carols to classics and everything in between, there won’t be any bah humbugs leaving this fun-filled show.

DEC 3 – DEC 31. A magical event for the whole family, make your way out to Alderson for the Grand Illumination and Christmas Parade on December 3rd. Take your position early, for once the “Queen of Lights” waves her magic wand, the parade commences across town. Stop back by any weekend leading up to the new year to enjoy the community bazaar and chili dinner, Christmas tea and the fireworks finale on New Year’s Eve.

DEC 4. At noon, the Lewisburg Christmas Parade makes its way down Washington Street. For more jingles bells and Santa’s elves, head down to the village of White Sulphur Springs for its holiday parade at 5pm or Rainelle's at 6pm. 

DEC 6. Adorned with twinkling lights and festive sights, the Ronceverte Christmas Parade commences at 7pm to ring in the season.

DEC 11. Get your shopping list ready! Lewisburg is rolling out the red carpet for Girls’ Day Out. A must-do if you’re planning a holiday-season-girlfriend getaway.  

DEC 12 – A Christmas tradition in the Greenbrier Valley, spend the afternoon listening to the beautifully harmonized melodies of the Greenbrier Valley Chorale in “Sing We Noel, Again!”

DEC 29 & 30 - A beloved holiday story, The Greenbrier plays host to the Beckley Performing Arts and guest ballet artists in two performances of The Nutcracker ballet. Set on the eve of Christmas 1830, this delightful fairytale brings toys to life as a young German girl dreams of a Nutcracker Prince and his battle against an army of mice.
