Greenbrier County CVB Announces #ShopGBV Campaign

November 04, 2016

November 4, 2016 (Lewisburg, W.Va.) – Officials with West Virginia’s Greenbrier Valley announced today its #ShopGBV campaign to kick off shopping for the holiday season. The campaign is designed to further build brand awareness, promote area partners and showcase the unique retail and local downtown shopping experiences throughout the Greenbrier Valley.

“Shopping in the Greenbrier Valley is unlike any other experience, and we are using this campaign to communicate that to visitors,” said Kara D. Dense, Executive Director of the Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). “We know both the Baby Boomer and Millennial generations are keen experience and local shoppers. Our #ShopGBV campaign is designed to provide a consistent brand experience for individuals interested in shopping in the Greenbrier Valley.”

Dense also noted shopping locations in the Greenbrier Valley are not the typical mall experience, as items purchased are often one-of-a-kind.

“When people shop the Greenbrier Valley, they are giving our business owners the opportunity to reinvest in our communities. Our #ShopGBV campaign is designed to promote those efforts and remind people to visit the more than 100 shopping options in our downtown destinations,” Dense said.

#ShopGBV is a social media-centric campaign supporting part of the new brand campaign “Simply Get Away to the Greenbrier Valley” launched by the CVB in September to promote the destination to visitors.

“We know from our industry research, people come to the Greenbrier Valley to simply get away,” Dense said. “During the holiday season, visitors can come for the day, for a few days or for the weekend and enjoy all we have to offer.”
