The Great Race Visits Lewisburg

Since being founded by Tom McRae and his old car buddy Norm Miller in 1983, The Great Race has been an annual cross-country road rally for vintage cars. The event tests both the driver and navigator's ability to follow instructions and endure the trip, along with the vintage vehicle they are traveling in. It's not a high speed race, but more of a precision pace race.  In 2025, The Great Race will begin in St. Paul, MN  on June 21st and end in Lake Murray, SC on June 29th...and will be making a stop right in downtown Lewisburg on the afternoon of Friday, June 27!  Don't miss your chance to see these vintage vehicles of all makes and models and talk to their owners about their Great Race adventures and other endeavors. There's no prize money, but each year the winner receives the coveted Tom McRae Spirit of the Event award, which is worth more than any amount of money to these dedicated competitors.
