Sunset Berry Farm & Produce

Sunset Berry Farm & Produce is a small family owned and operated farm located at the peak of Flat Mountain in Alderson. With five acres and four high tunnels in active production, they specialize in large volume strawberries and WV's "best ever" triple sweet corn. They also grow all the garden staples and more than twenty other fruits and vegetables in smaller quantities to supply CSA members.

The u-pick strawberry patch is open during the months of May and June. Sunflowers and peaches are ready for picking during August and September.

And for down-on-the-farm fun in 2022, bring the kids for paintball target shooting, fairy garden scavenger hunt, bucking cow barrel train rides and the HUGE jump pad!

Kent is a third generation strawberry farmer and has been growing the juicy morsels since the age of 9. Several years ago, the family relocated their farm to a 60-acre place on top of Flat Mountain. "West Virginia is perfect for growing strawberries -- the only challenge is finding enough flat land! The sandy soil and the cooler climate are good for berries," states Jennifer. 

Known for having the sweetest berries in the state, the Gilkerson’s are considered West Virginia's strawberry growing experts. The couple produces over 2000 gallons of berries each year.
