Greenbrier Valley Theatre Presents: Always Keep Your Lion on a Leash

Greenbrier Valley Theatre is happy to present "Always Keep Your Lion on a Leash" -- the story of the famous lion from West Virginia. Yes, you heard right -- in the 1890's, a lion cub was found by the river in Alderson and was raised as a pet  by a local resident.  As the lion grew, townspeople became wary of him roaming and so a law was officially declared in the town of Alderson requiring all lions to be on a leash. And well, the rest is history!

This 30-minute performance is FREE and appropriate for all ages. The special production will be performed on January 23 and 24 at 4:30pm by two teaching artists from GVT as part of the Educational Touring Initiative Spring 2025 Tour.  Don't miss your opportunity to take in this unique piece of WV history based on the legend of the Alderson Lion. A brief "talk-back" will follow each performance.
