We believe the best way to experience the Greenbrier Valley is through the moments that stay with you, and we’d love for you to share yours. Through our photo contest, we invite you to show us the places, people and experiences you love, giving others a glimpse of the warmth and friendly character that define the valley.
There are four themed photo contests throughout the year, each lasting 6 weeks. Cash prizes are awarded for the top three photos: $100 to first place, $75 to second place, and $50 to third place.
There's something irresistible about fresh water lakes and streams, and the Greenbrier Valley has plenty of them. We want to see your on-water moments. Maybe it's casting along the riverbank as the sun begins to rise, floating lazy circles on Sherwood Lake, or just dangling your feet in the water with nowhere to be.
Pro Tip: The most compelling water shots capture contrast. A splash of a fish as it breaks the water, a reflection broken by moving water, the look on someone's face the moment cool water meets warm skin. Get close, get low and don't be afraid to get wet.
For this contest, Experience Greenbrier Valley is seeking photos that align with the quarterly themes. Submitted images must be taken by the “Contestant,” and are from sites/locations within Greenbrier County, WV.
Over-processed images, images fabricated by GenAI, or those containing inappropriate or political messaging will not be accepted. Professional photographers are NOT ELIGIBLE for this contest. Please read the official rules before submitting a photo.
Pro Tip: You may submit more than one photo for each themed quarter, but the upload portal accepts only one image at a time.

Greenbrierwv.com is a travel and tourism website. The purpose of this contest is to give visitors a glimpse of the Greenbrier Valley through your eyes and inspire them to see it for themselves. Submitted photos should align with the spirit of Experience Greenbrier Valley’s mission… to showcase Greenbrier County as a premier tourist destination.
Submitted photos may be used by Experience Greenbrier Valley in our marketing. That includes but is not limited to social media, websites, print advertising and collateral. We will provide photo credit where possible.
Photos are reviewed internally before they are published to the website photo contest gallery to be sure they meet the entry guidelines. Review Official Rules – Entry.
Winners will be announced within 10 days of the contest end date, provided that at least 15 individuals (Contestants) defined by name and email address have entered the contest for a given quarter. Winners will be selected by the Experience Greenbrier Valley staff.
