Friday, June 4, 2010
First Fridays After Five
Downtown Lewisburg, 5pm-9pm
Historic downtown Lewisburg continues its tradition of First Fridays after Five!  Gather in downtown Lewisburg to enjoy friends, music, art and fun!  Featured tonight will be the foot stomping music of The Wild Rumpus performing in the Green Space from 6pm to 9pm, Smashbox Makeovers at Yarid’s, Ranger Jeff Layfield of the Greenbrier State Forest will be sharing information about the state forest at Harmony Ridge Gallery and First National Bank welcomes the folk duo of Bob and Mary Thompson with vocalist Brian McManus.  Plants, Etc. invites you to hear Paulo Mark and Erika Lipp on cello and violin, The Irish Pub welcomes West Virginia legend Jimmy Costa with Patrick O’Flaherty, and enjoy complimentary popcorn as you watch the summer blockbuster “Sex and the City” at 7pm at The Lewis Theatre.  First Fridays After Five:  You’ll find the lights on and the town alive!

Friday, June 4 & Saturday, June 5
Taking Steps
Greenbrier Valley Theatre, 113 E. Washington Street, Lewisburg
Join GVT on opening weekend of Taking Steps.  Set on three floors of a crumbling house in the space of a hectic 24 hours, this zany play by Britain’s master of comedy, Alan Ayckbourn, is the epitome of farce.  Performances begin at 8pm and tickets may be purchased through the GVT box office by calling 304-645-3838 or stopping by the theatre at 113 E. Washington Street from 1pm-5pm on Friday.

Saturday, June 5
Lynn Boggess at Cooper Gallery
122 E. Washington Street, Lewisburg
Cooper Gallery presents the New Works of artist Lynn Boggess, recipient of the West Virginia Governor’s Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award 2010.  A special reception will be held on Saturday from 5pm-8pm in the gallery.

Lewisburg Farmers Market
United Methodist Church Parking Lot, Washington Street, Lewisburg
Local produce, flowers, honey, eggs, meat, baked goods and crafts are all available Saturday from 8:30am-1:00pm at the weekly Lewisburg Farmers Market.

Sunday, June 6
Chris Neil at the Irish Pub
Irish Pub on Washington Street, 109 E. Washington Street, Lewisburg
