Volunteer for The Greenbrier Classic
Interested in being inside the ropes during the inaugural Greenbrier Classic? Volunteer applications are now available online at http://www.greenbrierclassic.com. The event, which will be held July 26 – August 1 on The Old White Course, will bring the world’s greatest players and tens of thousands of fans to the resort.
“The Greenbrier Classic will be the best event on the PGA TOUR. The entire world will be watching and we need 2,000 volunteers to make sure the event is flawless,” said Tim McNeely, tournament director. “There are two dozen volunteer committees, everything from admissions, merchandise, standard bearers and marshals to laser operators, supply distribution and TV needs.”
Volunteers, who must be at least 16 years of age or older, will work at least two full days or four half days and attend a Greenbrier Volunteer Training Session. In addition, each volunteer is required to purchase his/her own Greenbrier Volunteer uniform, available for $85. The uniform consists of a Polo Ralph Lauren golf shirt and wind jacket and a choice of a cap or visor.
The benefits of being a volunteer include a grounds badge allowing access for all seven days, parking credentials for complimentary weekly parking, and a $12 meal voucher for each shift worked. Volunteers are also able to purchase one additional grounds badge at half price, $73.50.
For volunteers who work three full days or six half-day shifts*, they will receive a voucher for one round of golf on The Old White, Meadows or Greenbrier course. Volunteers who work four full days or eight half-day shifts* will receive a voucher for a $79 one-night stay package at The Greenbrier which will also include complimentary golf for two.
