Nancy Rust accepts top prize for her photo contest submission

Lewisburg, WV (December 14, 2009) – Nancy Rust of White Sulphur Springs won the top prize in the Greenbrier County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (CVB) Facebook Photo Contest.

Rust’s submission, featuring a rustic barn set among fall foliage located on Route 92, was selected out of nearly 150 entries. Second place was awarded to Tracy Boggs for her photo of Anthony Creek at Blue Bend, and the third place winner was Cindy Wilber for her photo of Morlunda Farms.

Entries were judged by Ellen Broudy, amateur photographer; Alisa Ketchum, of Chrysalis Framing; and Ruth Miller of Kitten’s Korner.

“There were a number of photos that expressed great creativity and composition by the photographer, but they just didn’t convey the beauty of the Greenbrier Valley,” said Miller. “All in all, we were truly surprised and impressed by the quality of the photos submitted.”

The photo contest took place during the months of September and October and was designed to boost Facebook participation and garner photos of the Greenbrier Valley. Fans were asked to submit photos of the region and entries were judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness conveying the beauty of the area.

The CVB extends special thanks to the James Wylie House Bed & Breakfast, Julian’s Restaurant, Chrysalis Framing and Kitten’s Korner for their generous prize donations.
