LEWISBURG, W.Va. (September 27, 2007) The recipients of the 2nd Annual Spirit of Tourism Awards were announced on Thursday, September 27 at a luncheon hosted by the Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau at Blackwell’s in Lewisburg.
The Spirit of Tourism Awards were designed to honor Greenbrier County residents who have gone above and beyond in the areas of tourism development, volunteerism, securing a convention or meeting to our area and those who have excelled at partnering with the CVB.
“Over the past six years, Greenbrier County has experienced tremendous growth as a tourist destination. With the efforts of a well-orchestrated marketing plan and exceptional public relations efforts, visitors have been drawn to our county,” said CVB Executive Director Kara Dense in her remarks to the crowd. “But the CVB couldn’t do it alone. We have been supported by the community in so many ways and we are here today to recognize several individuals that have contributed so much toward the effort.”
