Martin & Jones Building

Martin & Jones Building

Consisting of hand-hewed beams, maple hardwood floors and a four-story original freight elevator, this building was constructed in 1900 and first served as the Greenbrier Produce Company. Having been in Ronceverte since 1904, Martin & Jones moved into the building in 1917.

The North House Museum

The North House Museum

Displayed in this 1820 National Register home are the historic artifacts of the Greenbrier Historical Society, including period furniture, textiles, Civil War items, historic wagons and decorative arts. Gift shop onsite.

Oakhurst Links Foundation

Oakhurst Links Foundation

Oakhurst Links was the first established golf club in the United States (1884). Players use hickory clubs and gutta-percha balls.

Step back in time and experience the history of golf. Rates start at $75 and include the use of equipment, a tour of the museum and light refreshments.

Old Greenbrier Baptist Church

Organized in 1781, this church is the oldest Baptist Church in West Virginia with complete records since its organization. The church is built of Indiana limestone and has a complete pipe organ.

Old Stone Presbyterian Church

Old Stone Presbyterian Church

Built in 1796 of native limestone, this building is the oldest church still in continuous use west of the Allegheny Mountains. The adjacent cemetery contains headstones of some of the area’s early settlers.

Organ Cave

Organ Cave

This historic and natural landmark is the second longest cave on the east coast. The cave played a significant role during the Civil War. Guided walking tours are available as well as extended expeditions.

A 120-acre historic district in downtown Ronceverte. The oldest building dates back to 1810, but most of the buildings came about during the town’s lumber heyday in the 1870s to 1890s.

Ronceverte Train Depot

Built in 1914, this is the only craftsman style building remaining on the railroad line. The first year of its opening, more than 65,000 passengers passed through its doors. The original passenger canopy and baggage building are still intact. Passenger service ceased in 1974.

Sam Black United Methodist Church

Built in 1901 and dedicated in memory of the Rev. Sam Black (1813-99), a longstanding Methodist circuit rider. The church, a spiritual landmark, became an established name on highway maps even without an established post office.
