Historic Downtown Lewisburg continues its monthly tradition of First Fridays After Five from 5pm to 9pm on Friday, December 5. Join the downtown shops and businesses for an evening jam-packed with live music, artist receptions, special events and refreshments! This event is free to the public and everyone is welcome. First Fridays After Five: You’ll find the lights on and the town alive!
This First Friday downtown Lewisburg celebrates Christmas with countless activities for young and old. Carolers will be strolling the streets singing holiday tunes, Santa Claus will appear at the center green space to visit with children and as a thank you for the public’s continued support of the downtown merchants, the merchants association is offering free horse drawn carriage rides up and down our festive and beautifully decorated main street.
The Red River Drum will perform a Gift Giving Blanket Ceremony in the corner green space. The public is invited to place a gift for a child (under 18 years of age) or for a mother on the blanket during the ceremony. The Family Refuge Center will be the recipient of these gifts. Please wrap and label gifts for age and gender. The corner green space marks the crossing of two Native American trails: Seneca and Midland.
The Greenbrier Historical Society celebrates “Christmas at The Barracks”. Enjoy beautiful Christmas decorations, music and refreshments as you are transported back in time. 200 North Jefferson Street, 304-645-3398.

Plants Etc welcomes Pablo and Erika on cello and violin. Enjoy the wonderful music while taking the opportunity to see a Godey Jacket on display for the evening. A Godey Jacket is a civil war era holiday jacket, designed by Louis Godey during the 19th century. Cooper Gallery features local artist Jessica Roczniak for the month of December. Join everyone for the opening reception at 5pm to 8pm.
