GVT will present Death of a Salesman on October 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 & 16.
In America today, life isn’t much easier for most people than it was when Arthur Miller wrote Death of a Salesman, so his ode to the human need for dignity still resonates. At its wounded heart this is a play about a family adrift. Willy Loman, a failing salesman, cannot grasp his failure to achieve the “American Dream” of financial success and happiness. Through a series of tragic soul-searching revelations of the life he has lived and of his illusions, we discover how his quest for the “American Dream” kept him blind to the people who truly loved him. This classic American drama is a profound work of deep and revealing beauty that remains an icon of the American theatre.
Theatrical performances are at 113 E. Washington Street at 7:30 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays; 8:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays; and 3:00 PM matinees on Saturdays and Sundays.
