Historic General Lewis Inn
Another romantic getaway is just around the corner at the General Lewis Inn. Opened in 1929, the original structure was built during the early 1800’s and mixes classic features with modern amenities. Throughout the inn, canopy beds, fine china, old prints, and other beautiful antiques fill each space, creating a perfect backdrop for a cozy weekend.
The relaxing living room features family games and various seating areas, while Memory Hall allows you to admire the various antiques and relics the innkeepers have collected over the years. The Dining Room uses locally sourced ingredients and prepares all meals from scratch. There is also a nice list of cocktails, beers, and wine to set the mood.
Enjoy complimentary fruit, muffins, and coffee on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, while breakfast is available on all the other mornings. Brunch is served on the weekends.
James Wylie House Bed & Breakfast
The James Wylie House Bed & Breakfast has been hosting couples for almost 200 years, offering a great location where you can visit the nearby golf courses or take advantage of numerous hiking opportunities. The house and cabin are on the National Register of Historic Homes.
There are three rooms and one suite, perfect for romantic getaways. All rooms have private baths, and the suite has two separate bedrooms as well as a claw-foot tub with shower.
Take a step back in time with a private stay at the historic cabin, which dates back to the 1790s and has a full kitchen, multiple beds, full bath and electric heat. There are two warm and inviting parlors and a large veranda in the common area welcome quiet times together. Every morning, breakfast is served at whatever time you desire.
